Join us for Kathi’s Night at the Derby, the Wishes for Horses annual fundraiser.
Wishes for Horses is a non-profit 501 (3) c whose mission is simple but powerful—to offer child-centered, hands-on horsemanship to every child, regardless of their family’s means. Wishes for Horses is hosted by Getner Barn, and has provided lessons and summer camp to countless kids who might never have had the chance to ride.
This year we are coming together to celebrate the life and honor the memory of Kathi Meenan, founder of Wishes for Horses, and to ensure that Kathi’s dream will continue. It was her lasting wish that her barn always be a place for kids and animals.
Please join us on April 16th to carry on Kathi’s legacy.

A Night At The Races 2025
Join us for our annual fundraiser A Night At The Races hosted at Zody’s 19th Hole in Stamford. Wear your garden party attire to enjoy dinner, desserts by DiMare’s Bakery, wine and beer. Adorn your head in your fanciest, silly or wildest hat for our hat contest, take a chance at our raffle, purchase amazing auction items and bet on some horse races. Purchase a table or individual tickets via check payable to Wishes For Horses or through our PayPal button. Tables are $1000.00 and individual tickets are $100.00. We hope to see you there.

Horse Show
Wishes For Horses Getner Barn will be looking to host their first in house horse show since 2019. The show will take place at our barn with our horses and students on Saturday October 12th, 2024. Students will compete according to their skill and ability. Rider participation will determine the start time. Instructor will choose horse/pony and class based off rider’s current riding level. Night at the Races
Night at the Races is Wishes for Horses Annual Fund Raiser. Put your Garden Party Attire on and join us for a night of fun includes a Buffet Dinner, Entertainment, Raffle ticket for a door price and Limited bar.
We are a Non-profit 501 (3) c group set up to help underprivilege children have a horseback riding experience and to further the education of local children on horse care and experience . Our group is run with all volunteers that have dedicated their time to help these children enjoy the animals we so love.
